SBDI Course (5-days)

Are you looking to take your career to a new level? Does your operation’s training meet the requirements established by the NYS Department of Education? If you answered “yes” to the first question and “no” to the second, you should consider becoming a SBDI!

PDS for SBDIs (1-day)

The New York State Professional Development Seminars (PDS) is a mandatory, one-day refresher course for SBDIs, with a different topic taught each year. SBDIs must attend one of the courses to retain their certification as a School Bus Driver Instructor. Only held in April and May.

CE Course (4-days)

PTSI’s NYS Department of Motor Vehicles approved Training Course is designed to provide the CE Candidate the tools and knowledge necessary prior to applying to take the DMV-administered 19-A Certified Examiner Test – an important step in seeking supervisor duties.

2026 CE Refresher (1-day) – In Person

Certified Examiners are required in both law and regulation to attend a New York State DMV approved CE Refresher at least once every three years to maintain certification. PTSI has been offering Refresher Seminars since 1996.

19-A Driver File Management (1-day)

This one-day seminar (5 hours of training) will allow you to walk away with a full understanding of why, how and most importantly what Article 19-A is and does.

Dispatcher Course (1-day)

A professional, dedicated Dispatcher can be the difference between an efficient operation or complete disorder. Dispatchers are the front line of defense and may recognize the signs that a driver might not be in the right condition to be behind the wheel. This course teaches dispatchers the skills necessary to do the job well.

School Bus Accident Investigation & Scene Management (3-days)

This comprehensive, three-day course, taught by PTSI’s Accident Investigation Experts, helps operations improve school bus accident scene management and develop bus accident response policies and procedures, with classroom instruction and hands-on field work.
